A very low maintenance garden giving interest throughout the whole year (almost entirely evergreen) can be created using many very tropical looking plants that will happily thrive in London's microclimate. Having tackled a varied range of horticultural projects, including designing gardens in Spain, I am familiar with the requirements of an extremely wide range of unusual and architectural plants. I have built up contacts with some very specialist nurseries and can source plants unfamiliar to garden designers who mostly only have a training in drawing. This style of planting can look particularly appropriate with water, decking and contemporary styles of hard landscaping. Though inappropriate in some situations a deck can be a very inviting surface to pad out onto in ones bare feet, making a garden often more imediate to a house (no step down as one steps out of the house). Children and teenagers love the softness and informality of wood, lounging on cushions on a deck or treating it like a stage. A treehouse (often next to a tree) can also work in well with decking towards the end of a garden. Decks are fast to construct and can transform a previously unusuable slope at a modest cost avoiding the expense of retaining walls. Having trained at one point as a cabinet maker, my decking is to a high standard.

Either at your property in our workshop or on site, we can install new glass panes to your window or door frames in clear, pattered, security, safety or fire rated glass. Shaped pieces can be cut from your template or we can make the template for you. All glass supplied by ourselves is manufactured by Pilkington Glass to ensure the optical quality you would expect. If you wish to re-glaze the frame yourself, we will cut to your size and supply you with putty, pins etc if you require them. Please call for a quick quotation. Glass & Mirrors Cut to Size. All types of glass and mirror can be cut to your size and specification whether its a piece of picture frame glass or a fridge shelf. If required we will remove the sharp edges and if a fine finish is needed we can machine polish or bevel them for you. Glass thicknesses from 3mm to 25mm are readily available and most can be toughened to increase the mechanical strength if required. Splash backs are usually supplied in 6mm toughened glass but thicker glass is available if you require it. Cut outs for sinks, taps or electrical outlets can be made using water jet cutting technology to achieve sooth edges. If the work top or splash back is to be coloured, we use Low Iron glass, which is optically clear and looses the natural greenness of glass for accurate colour matching. Polishing & Bevelling & Drilling. Various mechanical processes can be performed on glass to give different effects and finishes. Bevelling the edges of mirrors or the Georgian squares of window pane, can enhance them dramatically. Glass edges can be highly polished on shower screens or shelving which adds safety and a clean visual finish. If you need mounting or access holes, these can be drilled to your sizes. Security & Safety Glass. In certain situations special glass is required. Higher levels of security can be achieved with laminated glass which breaks but stays in one piece. The glass is made by having two pieces of glass bonded together with a resin. One side can break while the other is intact. The glass and internal resin can be made thicker to reach an anti bandit level of protection. Laminated glass is also a safety glass. Toughening glass increases its mechanical strength by 3-4 times and is useful in certain situations. It shatters into small pieces when it breaks and is a safety glass. Structual Glass & Balustrades. We can supply and fit or supply to your drawings or templates glass stair treads and balustrades. A wide selection of brackets and fixtures are available in stainless steel, chrome, brass or coloured finishes. We can help you select the type you need for your project and the type of glass to meet any building regulations for a given situation.
