We promise owners that, unless specifically requested otherwise, each professionally trained dog walker will walk their dogs separately. The reason we guarantee that our professional, insured and security-vetted dog walkers do not walk more than one owner’s dogs at a time – unless we are asked to give a dog more socialisation or other training – is because we believe dog walking too many dogs at a time does not give each dog the attention and exercise he or she needs, deserves & wants. Dog tags are a must! For safety and legal reasons we do insist that all the dogs we walk from home and from the dog day-care and overnight boarding crèche have an identification disc. By law every dog in the UK should wear an identity tag under the Control of Dogs Act, which states that dogs should always wear a collar and an identity tag in a public place.
Tags need to show the owner’s name & address, and we insist on an up-to-date mobile/telephone number for the owner. Even if a dog is micro-chipped it must still wear a tag. Owners can be fined up to £5,000 without one. We can provide a tag to suit your taste. Please ask when you visit and we’ll show you the range and take your order. For so many people their dogs are their children, and they want them to have fun and plenty of exercise rather than being left cooped up in the home all day. Meeting other dogs on a walk is part of the pleasure they get from a visit from a CDPOM dog walker. Our policy doesn’t mean that we won’t walk one owner’s two or three dogs together – they are used to each other and will run together off the lead anyway. Dogs are very social animals and enjoy being with someone, so Cats, Dogs & Peace of Mind dog walkers seek to give each dog as much of a treat as they can, in the absence of their loving owner. We specialise in designing right through to installation of gardens both great and small. The most practical way to approach this personalised service is for us to visit you at home to discuss your ideas. The first meeting is free of charge, usually lasting up to an hour. It is a perfect time to talk about your dream garden. By the end of this meeting we should have a very good idea of what form you would like your garden to take, from which design procedures and charges can then be agreed. The next stage in the design process is a site visit to do the survey. This usually takes 1-3 hours, and involves measuring up, taking levels, sketching and photographing the site. This survey is then used to draw up a base plan of what the existing site looks like and the elements within it. Several sketch proposals are then drawn and overlaid on the baseplan. These are rough ideas, and a starting point for discussion at our second meeting. This is often the first time you will see all the ideas translated onto paper. You may love one proposal, or like elements of all of them. The next meeting is when most clients approve the design. The proposal is then inked up as a design drawing. The final design is then used as a basis for all the more detailed designs – pergolas, planting plans, bespoke features such as fountains, mosaics, sculpture, etc. Once all the drawings are approved by the client and most of the elements have been decided, the costing for the project is finalised.
